KW Training Contract Learning Experience Print
Training Programme
At KhattarWong we know that our practice can only be as strong as the people we recruit and train.

We are therefore committed to continuing your legal training in a program that is at once comprehensive, structured and dynamic.

An integral part of any good training programme is the assurance of breadth of exposure coupled with depth of knowledge shared. To this end, you will be assigned to a Partner who will be your Supervising Solicitor.

One Partner/Supervising Solicitor will be assigned to one Practice Trainee to ensure that each Practice Trainee receives personal attention from not only the Supervising Solicitor but also his/her team.

Each Practice Trainee will also be assigned a junior associate to be his/her “buddy” to guide him/her in his/her work and overall learning experience.

Pursuant to the Practice Training requirements as set out in Part III of the Practice Training Period rules, Practice Trainees will receive adequate training in matters specified by the Board of Legal Education, including matters relating to professional responsibility, etiquette and conduct.

Practice Trainees may opt to be exposed to two or more practice areas, including but not limited to the following: Litigation & Dispute Resolution, Corporate & Securities Laws, Banking, Finance & Property and our specialist departments, Intellectual Property & Technology (IP&T) and Tax & Trusts.

Development of Legal Skills
Practice Trainees under the supervision of their respective Supervising Solicitors will receive adequate training to develop skills in the following areas:
- client care and management
- drafting correspondence and legal documents
- conducting legal research
- conducting due diligence
- case and transaction management, including monitoring files
- conducting negotiations and advising on settlements
- advocacy
