| KW-AA-HFT Charity Golf Tournament 2009 raises $96,000 for children’s charities |  |
Demonstrating their commitment to giving back to the community, KhattarWong, the Automobile Association of Singapore and the Horwath First Trust raised $96,000 for the Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF) and Club Rainbow, at the KW-AA-HFT Charity Golf Tournament 2009. The KhattarWong - Automobile Association of Singapore - Horwath First Trust (KW-AA-HFT) Charity Golf Tournament 2009 was held at the Tanah Merah Country Club on 22nd May 2009, with Dr Lee Boon Yang, MP for Jalan Besar GRC, as the guest of honour. More than 120 business associates and clients of KhattarWong, AA and HFT, joined lawyers from KhattarWong and members of AA and HFT for a round of golf at the Tampines Course. A dinner was also held in the evening at the Banquet Room at the Garden Course at Tanah Merah Country Club. The funds raised were split equally between the two charities. Various corporate sponsors, including the Asian Golf Course Owners Association (AGCOA), Tote Board and Tan Chong Motors generously donated cash and provided prizes at the prize presentation ceremony and lucky draw held during the dinner. Dr Chanchai Ruayrungruang, the Chairman of AGCOA, sponsored three all expenses paid trips to the golf course Pine Valley, located in Beijing China. CCF was set up in 1992 with a mission to improve the quality of life of children with cancer and their families through enhancing their emotional, social and medical well-being. CCF is an independent organization funded solely by corporate and public donations. Also established in 1992, Club Rainbow is a registered charity committed to helping children suffering from a range of chronic and life-threatening illnesses. The charity currently supports more than 470 children and their families. It provides a range of free services including a volunteer-based befriender network and counseling and free tuition at home, among other services.
