KhattarWong was proud to be the sponsor of this year’s highly-charged Singapore Law Review Lecture, held on 19 September 2008 at the Supreme Court Viewing Gallery. As part of KhattarWong’s commitment to nurturing tomorrow’s young talent, we engage both local universities in several projects annually to encourage students and provide guidance in activities outside of the classroom. The Lecture is one such collaborative event between the National University of Singapore Law Faculty students and KhattarWong. The Singapore Law Review Lecture is the longest running legal lecture series in Singapore. The 22nd Lecture was delivered by the Honourable Attorney General Professor Walter Woon, SC, who spoke on “The Problems of Sentencing”, a topic that has caught the attention of the media and legal fraternity alike in recent months. The AG delivered a compelling and instructive Lecture, which was very well received by the 200-strong audience, which incidentally was the biggest turnout for a Lecture in recent years. Amongst the audience were the Judge of Appeal, Chao Hick Tin, several Supreme Court Judges, Subordinate Court Judges, members of the Attorney-General’s Chambers, lawyers, law students and media friends. The event was well-received and we received favourable and complimentary feedback from the members of the public and Supreme Court Judges. KhattarWong is proud to have been a part of this event.
