In this article, Mr Ung introduced the Geographical Indications Act, 1998 of Singapore and gave examples of how to apply the Act. There is no case law yet in Singapore, but a case in Malaysia was cited. The article also compares the differences of actions taken under this Act and that taken under Law of Passing Off. Different types of Geographical Indications awarded by different Chinese Authorities are seenonsome famous traditional products in Singapore market. There is one product where two Geographical Indications were affixed to it in addition to its trade mark.
